Mike Bishop currently resides in Cedar Park, TX, in the greater Austin area, and serves both as the Front Ensemble Coordinator and a Percussion Private Lesson Teacher for Cedar Park High School Timberwolf Band. He has lived around the country, including California, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, and Texas. Mike grew up in the greater Philadelphia area.

Mike was a member of the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps from 2002-2005. From 2006-2008 he was a member of the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. Mike began his Winter Guard International (WGI) career in 2002 in the Percussion Independent Open Class with Riptide. In 2003, Riptide became United Percussion, and Mike stayed with the organization through the 2008 season, collecting two bronze and a gold medal in Independent Open (PIO) Class, and helped further the group into the Independent World (PIW) Class Finals. Mike wrapped up his WGI career in 2009 with a WGI PIW World Championship in Rhythm X.

Mike began his "Post Age-Out" teaching career in 2009 on the staff of the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps Front Ensemble, under the direction of Brent Montgomery, Tom Aungst, and Neil Larivee. In 2010 Mike joined the Front Ensemble Staff of both Redline Percussion, a WGI PIW Class ensemble from Canton, MI, and the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps from Fort Mill, SC, under Lee Beddis and Andrew Markworth.

Mike has also been an active educator and consultant for percussion on the East Coast. Mike has worked with and/or consulted with Bensalem HS, Bensalem, PA; Hatboro-Horsham HS, Hatboro, PA; St. Cecilia's Catholic School, Pennsauken, NJ; Garnet Valley HS, Glen Mills, PA; Pennsbury HS, Fairless Hills, PA; Timber Creek HS, Erial, NJ; Middle Township, HS Cape May Courthouse, NJ; along with Kettering-Farimont HS, Kettering, OH; Bellbrook HS, Bellbrook, OH; in the Mid West and Cedar Park HS in Cedar Park, TX.

Mike is a proud endorser of Vic Firth sticks and mallets, and is a huge fan of the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball & Philadelphia Eagles Football teams.
