Sometimes you just need a friend to lean on for support. Especially if you’re a 400 year old house built on stilts and sinking into the muddy Amstel River.

There’s nothing like that moment just after a rainstorm when the sun breaks through the clouds for the first time. || Hamburg, Germany
This place was an old folks’ home for over 300 years. Now, it’s an art museum. || Amsterdam, NL
One of my favorite things about Europe is the train station architecture. There’s so much blending of new minimalist ideas within detailed structures that are hundreds of years old, and it’s all beautiful and undeniably European - bold & seemingly simple.
This one in Rotterdam stopped me in my tracks on Sunday morning. Look how the light plays coming through the glass ceiling! And that big tri-tipped support beam to break it all up? The symmetry! Absolutely stunning. || Rotterdam, Netherlands
Took a sunset walk on my last night in Oldenburg and stumbled upon a beautiful nature preserve. || Oldenburg, Germany
It was so good to have @zachschlicher with me on this trip to Europe. I loved watching him go through the same process of excitement and discovery I went through nearly 5 years ago. He’s one of the ones who “gets it”. Maybe that’s why we’ve been such close friends over the years!
I’m still here for another week and a half but Zach heads home today. At least we got another backflip pic! || Amsterdam, Netherlands
I got to return to one of my favorite buildings in the world yesterday, and for the first time, actually go inside of it.
The @elbphilharmonie, sat on a peninsula in the Elbe River, is the home of the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra and one of the most acoustically perfect concert halls in the world. I really hope to experience a concert there some day.
The last time I visited the Elbphilharmonie, it wasn’t quite open to the public yet, so it was a real treat to get finally see the inside! @zachschlicher, @janino_o, @jweckschmied, and I spent some time at the @stoertebekerelbphilharmonie sampling some excellent craft beers and finished the afternoon with a walk around the observation deck to take in views of Hamburg.
And, of course, in typical Hamburg fashion, we got caught in some afternoon showers trying to make it back to the U stop!🌧 || Hamburg, Germany
Starting off my last week in Germany running some errands in Oldenburg. I’ve always adored this old gothic church across from the old palace in the Oldenburg City center.

While I certainly miss Austin from time to time, being back in Philly has been great - especially days like today:
In Texas, it’s a scorching 107°F (or hotter!), while in Philadelphia I got to work from @llbean’s pop-up #BeanOutsider workplace sponsored by @industriousphl at the @navyyardphila where it was a much more comfortable 77°F in the shade with a gentle breeze by the water.
So needless to say, today, I was feeling good about our move back home. || Philadelphia
